Founded in 2000, Rocky Mountain Revels is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting public education, understanding, and appreciation of traditional music, dance, drama, and ritual through participatory theater and communal celebration. Each year, a unique blend of amateur and professional performers from the greater Boulder/Denver area come together to create The Christmas Revels. This a holiday production with historical costumes, live traditional music, and authentic dance and theater celebrates the traditions of Christmas and the rituals of the winter solstice�the shortest day of the year�when we welcome the return of the sun�s warmth and recognize the cycle of the seasons.

Description

The annual Christmas Revels is a community-produced musical theater celebration of the Winter Soltice, with a different cultural theme every year. This year's theme is the Irish immigration experience. Actors, singers, instrumentalists, dancers of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience are encouraged to sign up for an auditon slot on this day, or contact Artistic Director Chad Boltz for an alternate date, at our web site: http://www.rockymountainrevels.org/audition.html.

Performances will be Dec. 22-23 and 26-27 at the Dairy Arts Center, Boulder. Rehearsals will be on Monday evenings, starting Sept. 25, at First Congregational Church, Boulder.
